No tracking or account

Satzly does not use analytics, advertising SDKs, cookies, or cross-app tracking. No account, registration, or personal information is required to use the app.

Everything stays on your device

Your reading progress, flashcards, quiz results, grammar exercise history, settings, and backup contents are stored locally on your device only. Satzly never uploads this learning data.

Optional story downloads

The Library works offline. Only when you tap "Search for new stories" does Satzly contact www.satzly.com to check for or download story content. As with any web request, the hosting provider receives ordinary technical metadata such as your IP address, time, requested file, and app network identifier. Server security logs are retained for 14 days.

The download endpoint keeps an aggregate count per content generation. To avoid counting the same downloader twice in one day, the IP address and network identifier are converted to a daily pseudonymous value. The raw values are not stored by this counter, daily values cannot be linked across days, and only aggregate history remains. Aggregates are retained for at most 400 days. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, our legitimate interest in operating and understanding delivery of first-party story content.

Export/Import

The "Export Progress" feature creates a local JSON backup file that you control — it is only shared if you actively choose to send it somewhere (e.g. via email or cloud storage) using your device's share function. Satzly and its developer never receive a copy.

Notifications

If you grant notification permission, Satzly may show a local reminder when flashcards are due for review. This is scheduled entirely on your device and involves no data transmission.

No third parties

Satzly does not sell data or share it with advertisers. World4You Internet Services GmbH, Austria, hosts satzly.com as our processor; its servers are within the European Union.

Your rights under GDPR

You have the right to access, rectify, or erase personal data, restrict or object to processing, and lodge a complaint with the Austrian Data Protection Authority. Because learning data stays local, use "Export Progress" to obtain a copy and "Reset Progress" to erase it from your device. Children's privacy

The app does not ask children or other users for personal information. The same limited technical processing described above applies whenever the optional story-download feature is used.

Changes to this policy

If this policy ever changes — for example, if a future version of the app adds a feature that processes data differently — this page will be updated accordingly.
